Diagnostiskt Centrum Hud introduces Mohs Surgery in Gothenburg

Diagnostiskt Centrum Hud are proud to offer Mohs Surgery from 24 October 2024 at our clinic on Stampgatan, central Gothenburg. This is an important step to improve healthcare for patients with skin cancer in the Västra Götaland region and throughout Sweden.

Mohs Surgery is a highly specialized and effective method for the treatment of skin cancer, especially for basal cell cancer of the face. The technique, developed by Dr. Frederic Mohs in the 1930s, involves removing skin cancer layer by layer and examining each layer under a microscope until all cancer cells are gone. This enables maximum preservation of healthy skin and reduces the risk of recurrence, which is particularly important for skin cancer that has arisen on sensitive or cosmetically important areas of the face or on the ears.

Advantages of Mohs Surgery:

  • High cure rate: Up to 99% for primary basal cell carcinoma.
  • Minimal tissue loss: Preserves as much healthy skin as possible.
  • Immediate microscopic analysis: Direct confirmation that all cancer is gone.

We on Diagnostiskt Centrum Hud always strives to offer the best possible care and our new Mohs Surgery services are part of this work. Our clinic on Stampgatan is equipped with the latest technology and our team consists of highly qualified and experienced specialists in dermatology and skin surgery.
"We are very happy to be able to offer Mohs Surgery not only to our patients in Gothenburg but also to patients across the country via our 12 clinics," says Magnus Jansson, CEO at Diagnostiskt Centrum Hud . "This technology will enable even better treatment results and increased quality of life for our patients."
We will start up operations with Mohs Surgery only in Gothenburg this autumn, with the first date on October 24, and look forward to welcoming both new and existing patients. We currently offer this to our patients either via health insurance or as private paying patients. For more information or to book an appointment, please contact us at: infogbg@dchud.se
