Dermatologist: 'Frustratingly' few get Mohs surgery for high-risk basal cell carcinoma in Sweden

The queue for Mohs surgery is long in Västra Götaland. Dermatologist Hannah Ceder believes that more patients should be offered the method for aggressive basal cell carcinoma (basalioma). Preferably as a first intervention, when the technique is most useful.
- It's frustrating to meet patients who have had surgery in the past and wonder why we don't do this more. But we would like nothing better. We don't want the patient to have had several surgeries before and then have to do Mohs," says Hannah Ceder, chief physician and Mohs surgeon at the Skin Diagnostic Center in Gothenburg.
